
He graduated from the Faculty of Dental Medicine, University of Belgrade, in 1972. From 1972 to 1980, he worked at the Novi Sad Health Center. In 1980, he began working at the Institute of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, in Novi Sad. In 1980, he earned his Master’s degree and started his specialization in Maxillofacial Surgery. In 1984, he passed his specialist exam and was appointed Teaching Fellow at the Department of Surgery with War Surgery, the field of Maxillofacial Surgery. He went for a professional development at the Institute of Oncology, Clinic for Cervico-facial Surgery in Paris, for a period of three months. He continued his professional development abroad in 1988, 1989, and 1990, spending three months on each occasion at the Clinic for Stomatology and Maxillofacial Surgery in Lyon.
He earned his PhD in 1989 with a thesis on the topic: Comparative values of the pectoralis major and latissimus dorsi flaps for the reconstruction of M.F. Region defects, and in 1990, he was elected Assistant Professor in the course of Maxillofacial Surgery. He was elected Assistant Director of the Institute of Surgery and President of the Council of the Faculty of Medicine in Novi Sad. In 1995, he was elected an Associate Professor of Maxillofacial Surgery and appointed Deputy Director of the Novi Sad Clinical Center. Since 2000, he has been a Full Professor and Head of the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine. In 2007, he started employment at the Faculty of Dentistry in Pančevo, where he is the Head of the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery.
As of 1992, he is the founder and owner of the Džolev dental office, which today has seven dental chairs, a surgical room, an X-ray cabinet, a dental-technical laboratory, and apartments for patients.
Significant Memberships:
As an author and co-author, he has published and presented 170 papers in international and domestic journals and at congresses. He has written chapters in three textbooks for medical and dental students and residents, as well as four monographs. He is currently writing a textbook on Maxillofacial Surgery for dental and medical students.
